I have no need to make any long trips at Christmas time, because my family is all here in my own state, but that wasn’t always the case; so I understand Christmas time travel.

Christmas time is one of the most hectic travel times of the year. For many people, sleeping on the relatives couch and the inconvenience of a long-term hotel stay are equally unfavorable options. I was just recently made aware of a third option: vacation rentals. Price competitive with hotels, with the addition of true home conveniences, vacation rentals seem a nice way to go.

Although I may not be traveling for Christmas, in the future I would like to take my wife, a first-grade teacher, on an after-Christmas vacation during her school break. A couple of places I’d like to visit are Hearst Castle which is in the Central California Coast area, and Disneyland which is near my boyhood home of Huntington Beach.
