I think these luminaria would make great decorations or gifts for Christmas. Since they use simple tap lights that you pick up at the store (no flame), you could give them as ‘night lights’ to your kids, family and friends while a bunch of them on your walkway would definitely festive up the path to your Christmas party.

Here’s my first luminary, made with a mini tap light (from the dollar store), double-sided tape and some homemade paper I whipped up last Summer. Just cut and tape.

This project takes all of a couple of minutes to put together and I think it turns out pretty great.
