I think this would be a great activity for New Years Eve or New Years Day when you have the family gathered once again for dinner.

Preparation:

• Tell everyone to bring a photo of an event, object, etc. with them that celebrates some accomplishment or thing they particularly want to remember about the year.
• Also have them bring, or provide for them, a notebook and pencil.

Activity:

• Gather together the photos and distribute them randomly among the guests.
• Each person finds the photo’s owner and interviews them about it.
• They then write a paragraph about that person.
• The paragraphs and photos are compiled into a Year in Review ‘newspaper’ and copies are made for all the family members.

An additional fun activity would be to make photo calendars from the favorite snapshots you’ve chosen from the past year.
