Thank You Cards from Recycled Christmas Cards
Sometimes I wonder if the “Thank You” card is becoming a lost art form, but every now and then I will get one out of the blue for this or that and my faith is rekindled. I personally need to be better about giving thanks to family, friends and colleagues that certainly deserve it. With this idea from my sister-in-law, Alison, giving thanks for anything Christmassy should be a shoe-in from now on.
Simply take a straight edge and an exacto knife (or box cutter) and cleanly slice the cover of your Christmas card off. Now you have a post card to send as a thank you to your mom, who spent far too much for her budget on Christmas gifts for every one of your children (and her 17 other grandkids as well).
Whenever I think of gratitude and ‘thank you’ cards, I end up thinking about the Savior and the ten lepers. All ten were healed, but only one gave thanks. I think the telling of that story illustrates how important gratitude was to Jesus, and since this is His birthday, it might behoove us to pay a little more attention to that aspect of the holiday.
Merry Christmas!
