Here is another gift you can make from recycled Christmas Cards, at least ones with cool cartoon characters on them; Christmas Card stick puppets:

These came from three seperate Christmas Cards, but I thought they’d make a great set to give to a nephew or niece for Christmas: Santa, his elves, and a neighborly polar bear (Tolkien had “The Polar Bear of the North” as Father Christmas’ companion in his “Father Christmas Letters” - written for his children). I just cut out the figures and glued them to popsicle sticks.

Just bundle them up with a rubber band for storage:
